A Holiday Tradition: Cookie Baking

One tradition we have maintained since before my children were born was making Christmas Cookies the day before Thanksgiving.  My children usually have off school and so it becomes a fun day to spend together.

My children love to decorate sand tarts.

I even decided to have a little fun with the sand tarts…..

One cookie we decided to try was an almond butter cookie in the shape of an owl. Warning!  These things really enlarge while baking!

We also made Chocolate Krinkle cookies, Classic Christmas Chocolate Chip and chocolate mint cookies.

Of course, the dog is ready and waiting to assist with waste removal from the floor.

His nose was a tad too close at times inspecting the yummy delicacies.

All in all, it was a busy, but fun day!

What kind of cookies does your family like to make for the holidays?
