This had been a favorite of my grandmothers and it is a beautiful reminder of God’s love and promises…..
Frank E. Graeff, a Methodist minister known as the sunshine minister, in the Philadelphia area encountered many trials throughout life. He was experiencing severe depression and doubt after his daughter was tragically killed that he wrote the hymn, “Does Jesus Care?” First Peter 5:7 became especially meaningful to him during this particular struggle: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” because it spoke deeply to him in this time of doubts and questions. It showed him his feelings were normal and that we can be assured that God does care for us.
Does Jesus Care?
(1) Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song-
As the burdens press, and the cares distress,
And the way grows weary and long?
CHORUS: O yes, He care- I know He cares!
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
(2) Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?
(3) Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong?
When for my deep grief I find no relief,
Tho my tears flow all the night long?
(4) Does Jesus care when I’ve said good-bye
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks-
Is it aught to Him? does He see?
