Pinterest Tuesday…..French Toast Bake

FrenchToastFamFav     Breakfast! One of my most favorite meals of the day! And what better than French Toast! Even better, something you can make the night before eliminating the morning rush and promising more time to relax with that cup of Java.  This recipe easily has the makings of a family favorite requested for years to come.







1/2 cup butter
1 1/2  cup brown sugar
9  eggs
3 cups milk
2 teaspoon vanilla
brown sugar, for sprinkling
powdered sugar
1 loaf Texas toast
butter, for spreading pecans, if desired


  • Melt butter & add brown sugar – stir till mixed
  • Spread butter/ brown sugar mix into bottom of 9×13 the pan
  • Beat eggs, milk, vanilla & powdered sugar
  • Lay down a layer of Texas toast bread (cut off crusts if desired )
  • Ladle on half of egg mixture
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon (and pecans if you like nuts)
  • Spread thin layer of butter on one side of french toast bread for next layer (cut crusts if desired)
  • Lay down second layer of bread, butter side up
  • Ladle rest of egg mixture over the top
  • Sprinkle with white sugar and cinnamon
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight
  • In the morning remove from refrigerator uncover and preheat oven to 350
  • Once preheated cook for 45 minutes and enjoy!
