Valley Forge

5479672     As the 1777-78 winter encampment of the Continental Army, Valley Forge represents the spirit of patriotism and, eventually, independence.  Sitting just out of the city of Philadelphia, the remains of the outpost serves as a living museum to the 1.3 million visitors each year.  But, in order to appreciate the beauty and size of the historical icon, one has to actually explore the site and immerse themselves in the continental landmark.

The Washington Memorial Chapel was beautiful!

9777265_orig     I loved Valley Forge Station and Washington’s Headquarters.  The architecture was amazing and the antique furniture exquisite.  It was fun looking at the old tools and the rooms inside Washington’s Valley Forge house were simply amazing!  There was also story tellers throughout the site that would tell you a little known stories about that time and place.3260297_orig
